You can put the Mitzvah in Bat Mitzvah...

Shatkin - 7

When Eliana learned about our orphaned girls at the Rubin-Zeffren Children’s Home in Netanya, Israel, she commented, “It helps you to realize how not to take things for granted.”

Eliana advertised her Purim gifts-Shalach Manot project in her school’s newsletter and on our Lev LaLev website. Her mitzvah project was so successful, she wanted to do it again the next Purim (and hopes to continue to do so every Purim).

Kailee was 10, when she and her friends started “Fashion for a Passion.” They design, produce, model and sell their products for charity.

As part of her 2010 Bat Mitzvah charity project, Kailee sought an organization that helped young girls close to her own age. She discovered the Children’s Home and knew that this was exactly what she was looking for.

Becky, as an adopted girl, found a personal connection to the plight of our girls.

In her Bat Mitzvah invitation she asked, “In lieu of gifts, I would love for you to donate to this charity. I will also be donating my personal money. Any amount will help, from one to one hundred dollars.Thank you for helping me improve these girls' lives and give them a second chance.
