Mitzvah Projects Get Creative.jpg

The summer is quickly approaching and while you prepare for final exams, graduations and ready yourself for summer camp, internships, volunteering, etc. I wanted to make a suggestion that may help make your summer break extra special.

Lev LaLev is now launching our first annual Swimathon campaign to benefit the orphaned and disadvantaged girls at the Rubin-Zeffren Children’s Home in Netanya, Israel. Even if you don’t swim, you can still help by hosting an event or promoting the campaign to your school, camp counselors, friends and family. For more information, and to sign up for your personal champion page, visit support.levlalev.com/swimathon. All ages are welcome to join, so spread the word!

Let’s show the girls at the Home how much we care about them that we would swim to them if we could! Swimming has never been more meaningful!

 T-Shirt Pillows!

tshirt pillows.jpgThis idea comes from Lev LaLev Bat Mitzvah girl Hannah Slager of NY. She and her mom have been selling the custom hand-made pillows for $7 each or $4 if you provide your own top! So far Hannah has raised $1,445 towards her goal of $2,700 to sponsor a special trip for all the girls at the Children’s Home to join her in her favorite activity; ice skating! Hannah will also get to join the girls on the ice skating trip on her next visit to Israel; what an amazing Bat Mitzvah project and memorable simcha!

June Survival Tip: Got Art? Donate it!

I was just at the Bat Mitzvah of my niece this past month on Yom Yerushalayim. She is a budding seamstress and painter so she decided to paint two murals of Jerusalem and donate them to her Synagogue in honor of her Bat Mitzvah. She also decided to sew together a special quilt for a local shelter. Do you have a special talent? Find a way to utilize it and make your mitzvah project extra unique and meaningful.
